Fiji Coach Marika Rodu highlighted lack of concentration and low confidence as key reasons for their 3-0 defeat to the Solomon Islands in their second Group A match of the OFC U-19 Men’s Championship in Samoa.

“Tough game. We conceded three goals, which shows a lack of concentration. In terms of confidence, we were not there in the first half and were struggling and chasing the game,” said Rodu. “But at this level of competition, the boys need to learn that consistency is paramount.”

Rodu is focused on boosting his team’s confidence for their final Group A match against Vanuatu, aiming to secure a spot in the semi-finals, especially as the Solomon Islands have already advanced.

The Fiji Junior Bula Boys will face Vanuatu at 11am this Thursday.
