Fiji Coach Addresses Setback in OFC U-19 Men’s Championship

Fiji Coach Marika Rodu highlighted that lack of concentration and low confidence played crucial roles in their 3-0 defeat to the Solomon Islands in their second Group A match of the OFC U-19 Men’s Championship in Samoa today.

“Tough game. We conceded three goals which goes to show lack of concentration, just in terms of the confidence level, we were not there in the first half, we were kind of struggling and chasing the game,” Rodu stated.

He emphasized the importance of consistency at this level of competition, saying, “But at this level of competition, the boys need to learn that consistency is paramount.”

Rodu is now focused on boosting his team’s confidence for their final Group A match against Vanuatu to secure a spot in the semi-finals, especially with the Solomon Islands already advancing.

The Fiji Junior Bula Boys will face Vanuatu at 11 am this Thursday.
