Fiji Clinches Historic Win in OFC Women’s Futsal Championship!

Koleta Likuculacula scored two goals as Fiji triumphed over Tahiti 2-1 in their inaugural match at the OFC Women’s Futsal Championship held in the Solomon Islands.

The match came alive late in the first half when Tahiti took the lead in the 15th minute with a goal from Remeha. However, Fiji quickly equalized when Likuculacula skillfully controlled the ball on the right side of the Tahiti box, shifted to her left foot, and fired a shot past the Tahiti goalkeeper, Corail Harry.

Things took a turn for Tahiti when Ninauea Hioe received her second yellow card, reducing her team to ten players for two minutes. Although Fiji failed to capitalize immediately on their numerical advantage, they managed to find the winning goal with only minutes remaining. Tahiti’s goalkeeper Harry made a brilliant double save from a free-kick taken by Cema Nasau, but she was unable to stop Likuculacula from scoring her second goal, securing the victory for Fiji.
