Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has extended an invitation to President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China to visit Fiji next year, marking what Rabuka refers to as a “golden milestone relationship” with China. During their meeting in Beijing, the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of the relationship, which has endured for over 49 years. Rabuka noted that the bond between Fiji and China has remained strong throughout this time.
President Xi highlighted that the relationship serves as a model of equal treatment and cooperative friendship between nations of varying sizes. He also advocated for the establishment of a China-Fiji community with a shared future. Additionally, it is worth noting that Prime Minister Rabuka and President Xi previously met in San Francisco last November.
