The Cabinet has approved the surrender of a segment of the Colo-i-Suva Forestry Reserve lease, facilitating the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) in enhancing its infrastructure. This significant upgrade initiative, which spans the corridor from Sawani to Colo-i-Suva, is aimed at improving water service delivery for communities situated between Sawani and Tacirua.

Under this project, WAF plans to utilize a portion of the forest reserve located next to its current reservoir in Colo-i-Suva to expand and elevate its service capabilities. This development underscores a commitment to providing better water access and reliability to residents in the affected regions, ultimately contributing to the overall enhancement of community resources and infrastructure. The move is anticipated to foster improved living conditions and support Fiji’s ongoing efforts in sustainable resource management.
