The Fijian Cabinet has granted approval for the partial surrender of the Colo-i-Suva Forestry Reserve lease, a move that will facilitate the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) to enhance its infrastructure. This development is part of a broader initiative to significantly upgrade water supply capabilities along the Sawani to Colo-i-Suva corridor.

This strategic decision will enable WAF to undertake essential construction work aimed at improving and expanding water supply for local communities situated between Sawani and Tacirua. The project involves utilizing a portion of land within the forest reserve, adjacent to the existing reservoir in Colo-i-Suva, to bolster and extend the existing water infrastructure.

By investing in these upgrades, the WAF is taking a critical step towards ensuring a more reliable and efficient water supply for residents in the affected areas. This development not only highlights the government’s commitment to enhancing public services but also promises to improve the quality of life for many individuals and families within these communities.
