Fiji Business Excellence Awards Shine on Top Entrepreneurs

The Fiji National University’s Fiji Business Excellence Awards took place on Saturday at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort, celebrating its milestone 25th anniversary while recognizing outstanding local businesses. The event showcased the resilience and dedication of entrepreneurs across Fiji, emphasizing that the pursuit of excellence is an ongoing journey rather than a definitive goal.

In her address, FNU Vice-Chancellor Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba stressed that continuous improvement is essential for strengthening both the economy and society at large. “It is a commitment to continuous improvement that strengthens our economy and society,” she stated.

Mark Halabe, Managing Director of Mark One Apparel and recipient of the Business Excellence President Award, encouraged attendees to embrace the challenge of organizational development over time, motivating the audience to embark on their journeys toward excellence.

The event also served as the final public appearance for outgoing President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere.

The awards list included several distinguished recipients:
– The 2024 Business Excellence Presidents Award went to Future Farms Limited, iTaukei Land Trust Board, Mark One Apparel Pte Ltd, and Datec Fiji Pte Ltd.
– Among the 2024 Business Excellence Awardees were Raffe Group of Hotels and Resorts, Hygiene and Sanitization Services (Fiji) Pte Ltd, Flick Hygiene Pte Ltd, and DHL Express (Fiji) Pte Ltd.
– The 2024 Business Excellence Achievement Award was presented to Zens Medical Centres Pte Ltd, Health Care (Fiji) trading as Aspen Medical Ba Hospital, and the National Fire Authority.
– The 2024 Business Excellence Commitment Award was awarded to Capital Go Max Freights Pte Limited, Kastle (Fiji) Pte Ltd, Ba Motor Parts Pte Ltd, and Oceania Hospitals Pte Ltd.
– The APO National Award was given to Future Farms Ltd trading as Rooster Poultry, with Stanley Raniga recognized as its CEO.
– The FBEA Green Sustainability Award was awarded to Mark Halabe for his leadership at Mark One Apparel.

Additionally, several evaluators were acknowledged for their more than ten years of service, including Collin Sowani Yabaki, Ropate Daucakacaka Pareti, and Samuela Kata Naisua. Others were also recognized for five years of dedicated service.

This event reaffirms the importance of fostering a culture of excellence within Fiji’s business community, encouraging innovation and sustainability. As the celebration of resilience and commitment to improvement unfolds, it reflects a hopeful outlook for Fiji’s economic future.
