A heavy rain alert has been issued for the southern and eastern regions of Viti Levu, as well as Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, alongside the Lau and Lomaiviti groups. A trough of low pressure is approaching from the south, bringing cloud cover and showers that are expected to start impacting these areas later tonight.
The forecast for the affected regions indicates cloudier conditions with brief showers, which will become more frequent as the trough moves closer to Fiji. Residents in these areas should prepare for the onset of wet weather and potential flooding as the system develops.
