A heavy rain warning has been issued for the Fiji group as an active trough of low pressure is making its way from the north. The Nadi Weather Office indicates that the region will experience periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms, with the most severe weather anticipated in the northern areas before spreading across Fiji by tomorrow.
Residents are advised to be cautious, particularly in low-lying regions, as the possibility of localized heavy rainfall could result in flash flooding. Furthermore, isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop in the southern and interior regions of Viti Levu, affecting areas such as Sigatoka, interior Nadroga-Navosa, Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Naitasiri, southern Bua, and Cakaudrove.
It’s essential for the community to stay updated on weather conditions and prepare for potential disruptions, while also keeping in mind the resilience and adaptability that many Fijians have shown in the face of challenging weather situations. Emergency services and local authorities are likely to be on high alert, striving to keep the public safe during this time.
