A low-pressure trough is projected to significantly impact the eastern regions of Fiji, according to weather forecasters from the Fiji Meteorological Service Office in Nadi. A heavy rain warning has been issued, indicating that various locations across the Fiji group will be affected for the duration of the week.

Fiji MET has warned that heavy rainfall could result in flash flooding, particularly in low-lying areas of Navua, Suva, and Nausori, alongside occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms. For Thursday, the forecast predicts intermittent rain, with heavy periods and the possibility of thunderstorms. Areas such as Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba may experience flash flooding in low-lying regions due to these heavy downpours, especially during the afternoon and evening, along with cloudy conditions.

In Labasa, occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to persist until Friday, with localized heavy rainfall increasing the risk of flash flooding in vulnerable areas.
