A trough of low pressure is anticipated to significantly impact the eastern regions of Fiji, as confirmed by forecasters from the Fiji Meteorological Service in Nadi. A heavy rain warning has been issued, indicating that several areas across the Fiji group will be affected throughout the week.

The Fiji MET has cautioned that intense rainfall could result in flash flooding in lower-lying regions, particularly in Navua, Suva, and Nausori, along with periods of occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms.

For Thursday, the forecast predicts sporadic rain, with heavy downpours expected at times and a few thunderstorms. This rainfall may lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas of Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba. Conditions are expected to be cloudy, particularly with showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.

Localized heavy rainfall may result in flash flooding for low-lying areas. Additionally, Labasa is forecasted to experience occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms until Friday.
