Fiji Braces for Heavy Rain: What You Need to Know

A heavy rain warning has been issued for the Western and Northern regions of Viti Levu, encompassing areas from Momi in Nadi to Rakiraki, as well as parts of Ba, Ra, Nadroga/Navosa, Serua/Namosi, Naitasiri, and Tailevu provinces, along with Vanua Levu and the Yasawa and Mamanuca islands. According to the Fiji Meteorological Service’s bulletin released at 10:30 am, a trough of low pressure is causing the current weather conditions and is expected to shift southward, bringing increased rainfall to the Northwestern parts of Fiji starting later today.

The forecast suggests that showers will intensify into heavy and frequent rain, particularly affecting the aforementioned regions. Isolated thunderstorms with potentially heavy rainfall are expected as well.
