The Fiji Meteorological Service has issued a heavy rain alert across the entire Fiji group as an active trough of low pressure is set to approach from the North later today. Forecasts indicate the possibility of isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms, with rain anticipated to affect the southern and interior regions of Viti Levu, such as Sigatoka, the interior of Nadroga Navosa, Serua, Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Naitasiri, as well as Southern Bua and Cakaudrove.
As conditions develop, this rainfall is expected to spread to the remaining areas throughout the group starting tomorrow. Residents are cautioned that localized heavy rainfall may result in flash flooding in low-lying regions.
As communities brace for these weather changes, it is a reminder of the importance of preparedness and safety in the face of natural events. By staying informed and taking precautions, residents can navigate these challenges effectively.
Overall, while the weather may bring temporary disruptions, it also reinforces the resilience and spirit of the Fiji community as they come together to face the elements.
