The Fiji Meteorological Service has issued a Heavy Rain Warning affecting the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, the Northern Division, and all of Viti Levu, while a Heavy Rain Alert is in place for the rest of the country. An active trough of low pressure is responsible for bringing rain that is expected to spread throughout Fiji.

In light of these conditions, the National Disaster Risk Management Office (NDRMO) has issued a warning about the potential for flash flooding. They are advising motorists to exercise caution as road conditions may become poor due to the rainfall.

Fijians are encouraged to stay updated on the weather situation by following the information provided by the Fiji Meteorological Service and the NDRMO.

In a proactive response to this weather event, it’s important for community members to look out for one another and take necessary safety precautions. Staying informed can help mitigate potential risks, and together, the country can navigate through these challenging conditions.

Overall, despite the unsettling weather conditions, this serves as a reminder of the importance of community preparedness and resilience in the face of natural events.
