A heavy rain warning has been issued for the entire Fiji group as an active trough of low pressure approaches from the north. According to the Nadi Weather Office, residents can expect heavy rain and thunderstorms, especially in the northern regions, with these conditions likely spreading across Fiji by tomorrow.
The office has raised concerns about the potential for flash flooding, particularly in low-lying areas due to the possibility of localized heavy rainfall. Furthermore, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated in the southern and central parts of Viti Levu, affecting areas such as Sigatoka, interior Nadroga-Navosa, Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Naitasiri, and parts of southern Bua and Cakaudrove.
In light of the weather forecast, it is essential for residents to stay vigilant, prepare for potential flooding, and follow any safety guidelines issued by local authorities. Such weather conditions can serve as a reminder of the power of nature, but also an opportunity for communities to come together to support one another during challenging times.
As with any severe weather, it’s important to adhere to forecasts and updates to ensure safety.
