Fiji Braces for Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms: What to Expect

A low-pressure trough bringing clouds and rain is moving towards Fiji from the southwest, expected to impact most regions from today until Wednesday. According to a weather bulletin released by the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi, an easterly wind flow is currently dominating the area.

For the forecast up to midnight tonight, the Fiji group should anticipate occasional rain, which could be heavy at times, along with possible thunderstorms in many areas. There is a risk of localized heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding in low-lying regions. Winds are expected to be moderate, blowing from the northeast to the southerly direction, with gusts at times and sea conditions ranging from moderate to rough.
