A heavy rain alert is currently in effect for the entire Fiji group as Tropical Disturbance TD07F continues to impact weather conditions across the nation. The latest updates indicate that TD07F is positioned just east of northern Vanuatu. Over the coming days, the system is predicted to shift south-southeast between Vanuatu and Fiji, leading to periods of significant rainfall and strong winds from later today.

For the remainder of the night, Fiji can expect moderate to fresh east to northeast winds. However, northwest winds are anticipated to develop later in the day, reaching speeds of up to 55 km/h, with gusts that could hit 85 km/h. Areas particularly at risk include the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, as well as coastal regions extending from Sanasana to Momi, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua, Rakiraki, and parts of the interior of Nadroga, Nadi, Ba, and Ra. Additional warnings have been issued for Kadavu and neighboring smaller islands, along with the coastal and inland areas of Bua, Lekutu, Dreketi, Seaqaqa, Labasa, Nadogo, and from Namuka to Udu Point.

Currently, sea conditions are considered moderate to rough, but a transition to rough to very rough seas is expected as the day progresses. Residents, particularly those in low-lying or flood-prone areas, along with mariners, are urged to exercise caution and stay informed through updates from the Fiji Meteorological Service.

As Fiji prepares for these weather disturbances, communities are encouraged to work together to ensure safety and minimize risks associated with severe weather.
