A heavy rain alert has been issued for the Fiji group as an active trough of low pressure approaches from the North, according to the Nadi Weather Office. The region is expected to experience occasional heavy rain and thunderstorms, with the most intense conditions anticipated in the northern areas and spreading across the islands by tomorrow.

The Nadi Weather Office has cautioned that localized heavy rainfall might result in flash flooding, particularly in low-lying regions. Furthermore, isolated thunderstorms are predicted to occur in the southern and interior regions of Viti Levu, affecting places such as Sigatoka, interior Nadroga-Navosa, Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Naitasiri, southern Bua, and Cakaudrove during the afternoons or evenings.

As Fiji prepares for these adverse weather conditions, it’s crucial for residents to stay informed and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety. Communities are encouraged to remain vigilant and monitor updates from local weather authorities. This proactive approach can help mitigate the impact of potential flash flooding and ensure a swift response to any emergencies.
