A heavy rain alert is currently in effect across Fiji, with persistent downpours expected to continue over the coming days. The National Weather Forecasting Centre has indicated that a slow-moving low-pressure system near Kadavu is responsible for the widespread cloud cover and rainfall.

Adding to the unstable weather conditions is Tropical Depression 03F, located far northwest near Vanuatu. The forecast suggests that tonight, most regions will experience occasional rain, which could be heavy at times, alongside the possibility of thunderstorms.

Authorities have warned that heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding, particularly in low-lying areas. Winds are expected to be moderate, coming from the north to northwest, and may become gusty during periods of heavy rain. Sea conditions are forecasted to be moderate to rough.

The Nadi Weather Office advises all communities to stay vigilant, keep updated on weather information, and take necessary precautions to safeguard against possible flooding. As residents brace for the continued rain, the focus remains on ensuring safety and preparedness in the face of potentially challenging weather conditions.
