Rising waters in the Ba River and its adjacent low-lying areas are leading to concerns about potential flooding, although no evacuations have been reported as of yet. Rosivela Nadivi, a representative for the Fiji Council of Social Services in the Highlands of Ba, noted that while houses remain unaffected, local plantations are currently submerged.

Residents are being urged to stay vigilant, as heavy rain alerts are in effect across Fiji. Continuous downpours are anticipated over the coming days, exacerbated by Tropical Depression 03F, which is located far northwest near Vanuatu. The Fiji Meteorological Services are closely monitoring the evolving situation and are advising communities to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

The proactive approach of local authorities and the community’s awareness can be key in mitigating the impact of this weather event. As conditions evolve, it is important for residents to remain informed and prepared for any developments.
