The Boxing Commission of Fiji (BCF) is currently investigating a brawl that occurred during the Fiji heavyweight title fight, along with another related incident, at the Bluewater Boxing Promotion event held at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka on Saturday night.

This inquiry follows instructions from the Minister for Youth and Sports, Jese Saukuru, who is urging the Commission to share their findings regarding the individuals involved in the disturbance by today.

Saukuru expressed his concerns about the situation, emphasizing that such events are unacceptable in professional boxing. He stated, “Boxing is a sport. People are trying to exercise their power but I have asked them to investigate.” He also pointed out that video footage shows that fighter Dauloloma was performing well in the match prior to the incident, indicating that the fight should not have escalated to that level.

BCF chairman Adi Narayan has confirmed that a press conference will be held this morning in Suva to address the situation.
