The directors of the Boxing Commission of Fiji (BCF) are currently investigating a brawl that occurred during the Fiji heavyweight title fight, along with another related incident at the Bluewater Boxing Promotion event held at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka on Saturday night.

This action follows a directive from Jese Saukuru, the Minister for Youth and Sports, who has called for the Commission to release its findings on the situation by today.

Saukuru expressed his concerns regarding the incidents, emphasizing that such events are unacceptable in professional boxing. “At this moment, we are entrusting the Boxing Commission of Fiji board with the responsibility to look into and investigate what transpired,” he stated.

He added that boxing should remain a sport and urged the Commission to conduct a thorough investigation. “If you view the video clips, Dauloloma was actually winning the match. It shouldn’t have escalated to that level because he was clearly performing well,” he noted.

BCF chairman Adi Narayan confirmed that a press conference is scheduled for this morning in Suva.
