TEAM Fiji at the 2024 Youth & Junior Oceania Boxing Championships in Tahiti continue to impress, securing five medals during the finals of the youth category.
The young team earned three gold and two silver medals, which adds to their previous haul of two gold, three silver, and a bronze in the junior finals on Saturday.
Mitieli Navuasese clinched gold in the 60kg division, defeating Arinui Teuru of Tahiti. Iokimi Navuasese (57kg) and Elijah Qiokata (71kg) also secured gold in their respective categories. Qiokata triumphed over Taumana Taiore of Tahiti in the final of the lightweight division.
Joe Nesta (67kg) and Semi Koroi (63.5kg welterweight) settled for silver medals. Nesta was bested by Samoan opponent Johnson Venasio, while Koroi put up a strong fight against Tahiti’s Kailoa Atger.
