Two defenders from London have been included in the 29-member extended squad of the Bula Boys for the upcoming matches in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Oceania Qualifiers. Scott Wara, a defender for Stafford Rangers, and Josh Qereqeretabua from Charlton Athletic, both of whom have previously represented Fiji in youth World Cups, are expected to strengthen the team’s defense.
The squad also features several overseas-based players, including captain Roy Krishna, as well as Nabil Begg in Auckland, Mohammed Raheem and Gabiriele Matanisiga in Wellington, Jerome Narayan, a goalkeeper based in Sydney, and midfielder Leroy Jennings, also from Sydney.
Fiji commenced its qualifying campaign with a 1-0 victory against the Solomon Islands in Suva on October 10, with the goal scored by Roy Krishna. The team is set to play against the hosts, Papua New Guinea, and New Caledonia in the remaining Group A matches next month.
New Caledonia won their opening match against Papua New Guinea with a score of 3-1. The training camp for the Bula Boys, guided by coach Rob Sherman, will commence on Sunday, October 29, at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba.
