A shadow national team, known as Fiji Blue, is set to compete in the Rooster Grassroots Fiji 7s tournament, which kicks off today at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. This event is organized by the Fiji Sports Council and features a diverse lineup of teams across several pools.

Fiji Blue will be competing in Pool A alongside Dominion Brothers, Army Red, and Vuna Brothers. The team comprises players from the national squad, providing an opportunity for the athletes to showcase their skills in a competitive setting.

In Pool B, teams include Army Green, Covenant Brothers, Lomaiviti, and Ravete Brothers. Meanwhile, Pool C consists of BLK Lavidi, Coral Coaster, Birdland Brothers, and Tubarua Highlanders. Pool D features FSC Grassroots Fiji, Vunimono, Vokainations, and Lomaiviti Highlanders.

The tournament is set to begin at 9 am at the HFC Bank Stadium, with accompanying volleyball matches taking place at the FMF Gymnasium. Grandstand tickets are priced at $5 each for both the 7s rugby matches and volleyball. Fans can catch the action live and exclusively on FBC 2, while overseas viewers have the option to stream the games on Vitiplus for $20 FJD.

This event not only showcases emerging talent in rugby but also fosters community spirit and engagement in sports, promising an exciting day for athletes and spectators alike.
