Fiji Bitter has announced a $300,000 investment in a new sports series featuring 12 tournaments. The series, named the Fiji Bitter Sevens Series, will be managed by general manager Mike Spencer. It will consist of six legs, each including two tournaments, and is scheduled to take place over six months, from October to March.
The 12 tournaments will culminate in the Marist 7s, set to be held in March next year at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
The tournament schedule is as follows: Kadavu 7s from October 3-5, Malake 7s from October 10-12, Mataso 7s on November 15-16, Yalovata 7s from November 21-23, Yasawa 7s on December 6-7, Wairiki 7s from December 11-14, Labasa 7s from January 9-11, Savusavu 7s on January 16-18, Nahehevia 7s from February 13-15, Tabadamu 7s from February 20-22, Nawaka 7s from March 20-22, and finally, the Marist 7s from March 27-29.
