A new champion will emerge at the Fiji Bitter Labasa 7s this Saturday as the Devo Babas will not be participating in the tournament. The absence of the 2025 champions from the competition has set the stage for a fresh titleholder to claim the prestigious trophy. The confirmed roster now boasts 32 men’s teams, categorized into eight pools of four.

This year’s Labasa 7s will showcase a mix of familiar powerhouses and emerging teams, especially after the Devo Babas missed previous legs of the 2025/26 Fiji Bitter 7s series, including the Yalovata 7s and the Wairiki 7s, where they had previously displayed their prowess by winning against Wardens Gold.

As the men’s tournament unfolds, it will feature spirited competition across various pools, including notable teams like Service Rugby, BLK Lavidi Brothers, and the Vanuavou Stingray. Pool A includes Service Rugby, BLK Lavidi Brothers, Marist Rugby, and Valeni Brothers, while other pools feature a diverse line-up of talent eager to clinch victory.

In addition to the men’s competition, the women’s division is set to make a significant impact with eight teams vying for the title at Subrail Park. The defending champions, Ezers, will return to defend their title against formidable competition such as Tagimoucia Ranadi, which recently captured the Wairiki 7s trophy.

Moreover, the under-21 division is also drawing attention, featuring 20 teams split across five pools. Last year’s champions, Aqua Pro Savuiqali, will aim to reclaim their title after a hard-fought victory against Nasekula Blues. Prominent teams, including Fiji Seasalt Taveuni Selection, will also strive to make their mark.

With such a rich tapestry of competition and emerging talent, the Fiji Bitter Labasa 7s promises to provide thrilling matches and unforgettable moments, highlighting the spirit of rugby in Fiji. Supporters can look forward to witnessing fierce battles on both the men’s and women’s fronts as these athletes showcase their skills and determination on the field.
