Coach Apenisa Kuru has noted that many selected players are newcomers to beach volleyball, having been discovered during a recent series. Team captain Sakiusa Naivana acknowledges the challenges of including inexperienced players, especially those who haven’t played at the international level before. “We have been working on fitness and as the competition days come near, we’re focusing on chemistry,” said Naivana, reflecting the team’s commitment to fostering a strong bond and effective collaboration among players.
The Fiji beach volleyball squads, consisting of both seasoned veterans and promising newcomers, aspire for a podium finish at the Mini Games, which are scheduled from June 29 to July 9.
