Fiji Bati vs PNG Kumul’s: Who Will Make the Squad?

As the eagerly awaited matchup between the Fiji Bati and Papua New Guinea Kumuls approaches, Vodafone Fiji Bati coach Wise Kativerata is set to unveil the national squad on Monday morning, following the NRL Grand Final on Sunday.

The selection process has been thorough, with the coaching staff waiting for the announcement of Australia’s squad to ensure they can recruit the best players available for the team.

“The senior players are available to play, which is a positive as we are playing in Fiji, and we need all the top players ready to come here and demonstrate their skills, serving as role models for the young people of our country,” Kativerata stated.

While the participation of Jarred Hayne remains uncertain due to personal commitments, the coach emphasizes the unity of the team and the goal of winning every match to elevate Fiji rugby league.

“Regarding Jarred, he’s not ready to commit yet, and I understand that he has family obligations. We will wait to see what he decides. For now, my focus is entirely on the team,” he added.

“My attention is on the Bati team, and I’m not concerned about the Kumuls or the Cook Islands. We have a clear direction and aim to reach the top,” he expressed.

Anticipation is growing, and fans are encouraged to show their support for the players, who will showcase some of the nation’s finest talents representing the Fiji Bati on home ground.

The Fiji Bati team is scheduled to compete against the PNG Kumuls on the 19th of this month.
