Kitione Kautoga, a promising talent from Fiji, has officially signed with the Parramatta Eels for the upcoming 2025 season. Having played two matches in the NRL last season with the Bulldogs, Kautoga will join the Eels under a development contract and become part of their Top 30 squad.
Mark O’Neill, the General Manager of Football at Parramatta, expressed his enthusiasm for Kautoga’s arrival, highlighting the young player’s potential and his prior experience in the NRL. O’Neill stated, “We are delighted to welcome Kitione to the Parramatta Eels. He’s an exciting young talent who has already had a taste of NRL, and we believe he will be a valuable addition to our squad.”
Kautoga’s participation in the preseason training will allow him to acclimate to the team and forge connections with his new teammates. O’Neill is optimistic that, under the mentorship of the coaching staff, Kautoga will continue to develop and excel in his career.
In addition to signing with the Eels, Kautoga made his international debut for Fiji earlier this year at the Pacific Championships and is currently training with the team. He participated in a members-only open session at Granville Park, marking an exciting start to his journey with Parramatta.
With young prospects like Kautoga joining teams, the future of rugby league in Fiji looks bright, and fans can look forward to seeing how he progresses in the NRL as well as his contributions to the Eels.
