Fiji Bati rising star Kitione Kautoga has officially signed a development contract with the Parramatta Eels for the upcoming season. The NRL club announced the exciting news over the weekend, revealing that Kautoga will join the Top 30 squad.
Mark O’Neill, the Eels’ general manager of football, expressed enthusiasm about Kautoga’s potential. “Kautoga is an exciting talent who will be a valuable addition to our team. His participation in preseason training will not only help him integrate into our systems but also facilitate the building of relationships with his teammates. We are confident that, with the support of our coaching staff, he will continue to grow and excel,” O’Neill shared with the club’s media.
Just last Friday, Kautoga was granted an early release from his previous club, the Bulldogs, where he played a total of two first-grade games this season. He made his debut in August 2022 for the Wests Tigers, showcasing his skills on the field. Kautoga also represented Fiji Bati last year during the Pacific Bowl Championship held in Papua New Guinea.
This move to the Parramatta Eels presents an exciting opportunity for Kautoga to further develop his game and showcase his talents in the NRL, indicating a promising future ahead.
In summary, Kautoga’s transition to the Eels highlights his growing reputation in rugby league, and with the right support and training, he has the potential to make a significant impact in his career while contributing to the team’s success.
