Fiji Bati’s promising athlete Kitione Kautoga has secured a development contract with the Parramatta Eels for the upcoming season. The announcement was made by the NRL club over the weekend, confirming Kautoga’s place in the Top 30 squad.

Mark O’Neill, the general manager of football for the Eels, expressed his enthusiasm about Kautoga joining the team, highlighting the player’s potential as a valuable addition. O’Neill mentioned that Kautoga’s participation in preseason training will help him acclimate to the team’s environment and foster connections with his teammates. He expressed confidence in Kautoga’s ability to develop further under the support of the coaching staff.

Kautoga transitioned to Parramatta after receiving an early release from the Bulldogs last Friday. This past season, he played in two first-grade games for the Bulldogs, contributing 13 minutes against the Storm and 21 minutes against the Roosters. He made his NRL debut in August 2022 with the Wests Tigers and also represented the Fiji Bati in the Pacific Bowl Championship last year.

This signing not only opens a new chapter for Kautoga but also reflects the Eels’ commitment to nurturing young talent. Fans and supporters will be eager to see how he integrates into the squad and contributes to the team’s success in the coming season.

In summary, Kautoga’s move to the Parramatta Eels represents a significant opportunity for the young player and a strategic addition for the Eels, promising excitement for both the player and fans alike.
