As the highly anticipated match between Fiji Bati and Papua New Guinea Kumuls approaches, Vodafone Fiji Bati coach Wise Kativerata is scheduled to reveal the national squad on Monday morning, following the NRL Grand Final on Sunday.

The selection process has been thorough, with the coaching staff waiting for Australia’s squad announcement to ensure they can field the best available players for the team.

“The senior players are available to play, which is great since we are competing in Fiji. We need all our top players to participate and serve as role models for the youth of the country,” Kativerata stated.

Despite uncertainty surrounding Jarrod Hayne’s participation due to personal commitments, the team’s focus remains on winning each game and elevating Fiji rugby league.

“Regarding Jarrod, he’s not quite ready, and I understand his situation after being away from the game for some time. He has family obligations, so we will wait and see if he decides to join us. For now, my focus is entirely on the team,” he added.

Kativerata emphasized, “My priority is the Bati team; I am not concerned about the Kumuls or the Cook Islands. We have a clear direction, and our goal is to reach the top.”

With excitement in the air, fans are encouraged to support the players, which promises a thrilling matchup featuring some of the nation’s finest talent representing Fiji Bati on home ground.

The Fiji Bati team is set to face the PNG Kumuls on the 19th of this month.
