The Fiji Baby Bula Boys have advanced to the semi-finals of the OFC U-16 Men’s Championship in Tahiti following a 3-2 victory over Vanuatu in their last Group A match.

The team finished second in Group A, just behind New Zealand, and will now compete against the winner of Group B for a spot in the final.

The semi-finalists have an additional opportunity to qualify for the FIFA U-17 Men’s World Cup in Qatar next year, with the finalists in Papeete earning a place alongside the winner of the match for third and fourth places.

Vanuatu, who required a victory by at least six goals to secure a semi-final spot ahead of the Cook Islands, made a strong start in the match.
