Jackson Bernard Nato Evans has been appointed as Fiji’s High Commissioner Designate to Papua New Guinea. Prior to his current role, he was reappointed in 2011 as the Director of Force Development and Strategic Command at the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF). His impressive career includes a notable tenure as the Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion, Fiji Infantry Regiment, during their deployment in Iraq in May 2007.
His distinguished service includes a position as Chief Staff Officer for Force Development at RFMF Headquarters in 2006, and his promotion to Colonel in 2008 marks a significant milestone in his military journey. Among his commendations, Evans has earned the MFO Peacekeeping Medal for his efforts in Egypt and has been recognized for his exemplary leadership with the Multinational Forces Commanders Command Medal on two occasions.
