While Mr. Chand’s appointment as Ambassador has been confirmed, the timeline for him to take on this new role in Japan is yet to be established, as noted by Mr. Rokovada.

This leadership change not only reflects Fiji’s commitment to building strong international relationships but also emphasizes the government’s dedication to promoting capable individuals in key positions. Mr. Chand’s extensive experience in civil service is expected to strengthen Fiji’s diplomatic presence in Japan, fostering further cooperation between the two nations.

Summary: Parmesh Chand has been appointed as Fiji’s new Ambassador to Japan, replacing Filimoni Waqabaca, who will head the Fiji Development Bank. The date for Mr. Chand to begin his new assignment is still under determination.
