The Cabinet has given its approval for the Air Transport Agreement between the United States and the Government of Fiji, establishing a bilateral open skies arrangement. This marks Fiji’s first Air Transport Agreement focused on open skies, developed in collaboration with Fiji Airways. Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica stated that the Agreement is a result of the liberalization of Fiji’s Aviation Policy, which permits the assessment of potential bilateral and multilateral open skies partnerships on a case-by-case basis. This approach aims to ensure the viability of aviation routes while supporting trade, investment, and the sustainability of Fiji’s tourism sector.
