Fiji and New Zealand Set for Thrilling Futsal Showdown!

The Digicel Fiji women’s futsal team is set for a crucial matchup against New Zealand in their third game of the Ocean Football Confederation Women’s Nations Cup in the Solomon Islands today.

Fiji currently leads the points table with six points, having secured victories over Tahiti and Tonga with scores of 2-1 and 4-0, respectively. Player of the match Sofi Diyalowai acknowledged the challenges New Zealand poses and emphasized the importance of recovery and learning from previous games.

“We must have a good recovery and learn from our mistakes in our first two games. We need to improve our attacking play as well. New Zealand is a tough team, but I believe in our team’s abilities,” Diyalowai stated.

New Zealand holds the second spot in the rankings with three points after a dominant 10-0 win over Tonga. Tahiti also has three points, while Solomon Islands and Tonga have yet to earn any points.

The top two teams will advance to the final following the completion of the round-robin matches. Fiji’s match against New Zealand is scheduled for 6 PM.
