The Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, together with the Japanese Ambassador to Fiji, Rokuichiro Michii, inaugurated new facilities at Navuakece District School in Naitasiri on Thursday. This project involved the construction of a new block featuring three classrooms, which was officially handed over to the school management board.

Mr. Radrodro expressed gratitude to the Japanese government for its steadfast commitment to enhancing education, particularly in remote areas like Navuakece. He emphasized that the new classrooms represent more than just physical structures; they are essential environments for children to explore, learn, and develop.

Valued at $412,134, the new classrooms were funded in partnership by the Governments of Fiji and Japan. This investment aims to create a nurturing learning environment for the children of Navuakece, greatly enhancing their educational experience.

Mr. Radrodro also acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the school’s management, parents, teachers, and the current Head of School. He encouraged ongoing collaboration among school leaders and the community, reinforcing the government’s commitment to providing accessible, quality education for all children.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Radrodro called on parents, guardians, and educators to collectively nurture the next generation of leaders. He urged the school staff and management to take ownership of the new facilities and strive for excellence in education.
