Fiji and Japan Set for Epic Clash in Pacific Nations Cup Final!

The FIJI Water Flying Fijians are set to compete against host nation Japan in the grand final of the Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup this Saturday. Japan secured their place in the final by defeating Samoa 49-27 in the second semifinal.

This match will reignite the rivalry between Fiji and Japan, which began in 1990. Out of the 17 encounters so far, Fiji has won 14 times, leaving Japan with three victories. Prominent victories for Japan include a 24-18 win in Matsuyama in May 1994 and a 24-13 win in Lautoka in July 2011. Japan’s largest victory margin over Fiji occurred in May 1994 when they won 20-8 at the National Stadium in Tokyo.

The final is scheduled to take place at Hanazono Rugby Stadium in Higashiosaka at 10:05 PM Fiji Time.
