The Minister of Education, Aseri Radrodro, alongside the Japanese Ambassador to Fiji, Rokuichiro Michii, inaugurated a new facilities project at Navuakece District School in Naitasiri on Thursday. This project features the construction of a new block that includes three classrooms, which have been officially handed over to the school management board.
Radrodro expressed gratitude towards the Japanese government for its continual support in enhancing education, especially in remote areas like Navuakece. He underlined the significance of this project, indicating that it signifies more than just new buildings. “These classrooms are not just buildings; they are safe, vibrant spaces where our children can explore, learn, and grow,” he remarked. He emphasized that these classrooms provide an optimal environment for children to embark on their educational journeys.
The new classrooms, valued at $412,134, were financed through the joint efforts of the Governments of Fiji and Japan. They aim to create a conducive learning atmosphere for the children of Navuakece, ultimately enhancing the community’s educational experience.
In his address, Radrodro also acknowledged the hard work and commitment of the school’s management, parents, teachers, and the current Head of School. He encouraged continuous collaboration among the school’s leadership and the community to ensure the institution’s ongoing success. He affirmed the Coalition Government’s pledge to guarantee that quality education remains accessible to all children, asserting that no one should be left behind.
In conclusion, the Minister urged parents, guardians, teachers, and the community to take collective responsibility in nurturing future leaders. He encouraged the school staff to fully utilize the new facilities and strive towards providing the best educational opportunities for their students.
This initiative is a hopeful step toward fostering a more robust educational framework, showcasing the importance of international partnerships and community engagement in promoting accessible education for all youth. It reflects a commitment to building a brighter future for Fiji’s children.
