The Pacific Nations Cup final marks the 20th encounter between Fiji and Japan, with Fiji winning 15 of the previous 19 meetings and Japan taking four victories.
Fiji has claimed victory in five of their last six games against Japan, including a 35-12 win at Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium in August of last year.
Team Captain Tevita Ikanivere expressed confidence in the team’s preparation, stating they have trained well and are determined to minimize mistakes in the final match.
As the Fiji Water Flying Fijians gear up to face Japan in the 2024 Pacific Nations Cup finale, Ikanivere emphasized that the players understand what is required to bring the cup home.
He acknowledged the pressure surrounding the match but noted, “Pressure is a Privilege.”
The Flying Fijians will compete against Japan in the final game of the Pacific Nations Cup at 10:05 PM.
