The Fiji Chinese Trade Show officially commenced today at the Vodafone Arena, featuring innovations and advanced technologies from 30 prominent Chinese tech companies. Spanning over four days, the event seeks to enhance trade relations between Fiji and China.

Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, His Excellency Zhou Jian, emphasized that the exhibition serves as a vital platform for Chinese firms to explore the Fijian market and identify potential collaboration opportunities. He remarked, “The participating companies are all leading brands across various industries. This event not only highlights China’s achievements in technological innovation and industrial upgrading but also offers Fijian companies and the public insight into China’s advanced technologies and products.”

Ambassador Jian described the exhibition as a “bridge of trade,” “bridge of cooperation,” and “bridge of friendship,” aiming to connect Chinese and Fijian enterprises and promote enhanced economic collaboration and technology exchange. He also expressed his hope that participating exhibitors would transition into investors in Fiji, contributing to the development of the nation as a manufacturing hub in the South Pacific.

Yan Chenhui, Deputy Director General of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, highlighted the exhibition’s focus on numerous high-quality Chinese enterprises spanning agriculture, manufacturing, services, and more. He proudly mentioned the presence of industry giants such as China Mobile, China Railway Group, Huawei, Shaanxi Automobile, Hytera, Great Wall Motor, and Daqin Energy Storage, aiming to facilitate connections between Fijian and Chinese businesses.

This trade exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Trade, Cooperatives & MSMEs, in collaboration with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and will wrap up on Sunday, November 24.

This event represents a significant opportunity not only for economic exchange but also for fostering stronger bilateral ties that could lead to enhanced development in Fiji.
