The Fiji Chinese Trade Show commenced this morning at the Vodafone Arena, highlighting the cutting-edge technology and innovations from 30 leading Chinese technology firms. This four-day event aims to enhance trade relations between Fiji and China.
Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, His Excellency Zhou Jian, emphasized that the exhibition serves as a platform for Chinese companies to explore opportunities within the Fijian market. He noted that the participating companies represent major brands from diverse industries, demonstrating China’s advancements in technology and industrial development. Jian remarked that this exhibition will facilitate connections between Chinese and Fijian companies, promoting higher-level economic collaboration and technological exchange.
Moreover, Jian expressed hope that some of the exhibitors will transition into investors within Fiji, contributing to the ambition of establishing the country as a manufacturing hub in the South Pacific.
Yan Chenhui, Deputy Director General of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, highlighted the presence of distinguished Chinese enterprises across various sectors, including agriculture and manufacturing. He stated that important industry players such as China Mobile, Huawei, and others are participating, aiming to foster communication between Chinese and Fijian enterprises while showcasing innovative technological capabilities.
Organized by Fiji’s Ministry of Trade, Cooperatives, and MSMEs in conjunction with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the exhibition will conclude on Sunday, November 24.
This trade show not only represents a significant opportunity for Fiji to engage with global markets but also opens the door for possible collaborations that could lead to economic growth and technological advancement in the region.
By fostering relationships through such initiatives, there is hope that Fiji can emerge as a key player in manufacturing within the South Pacific, benefiting its economy and enhancing its position on the global stage.
