Fiji and China Celebrate Friendship with Unique Bird Stamps!

New bird stamps were unveiled last month to commemorate the national day of Fiji and the People’s Republic of China. This event was organized by several entities, including the China Academy of Art and the Fiji-China Friendship Association.

The stamps, which celebrate the avian diversity, are a joint effort between the Chinese Cultural Centre and Post Fiji, with backing from the Chinese Embassy. Designer Guo Zhiyi explained that the bird stamps symbolize the enduring relationship between Fiji and China.

“It reflects the friendship between the two nations through the depiction of birds in their natural environments,” Mr. Guo stated in an interview. He added that this imagery serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of ecosystems and the need to protect them.

Mr. Guo emphasized that the stamps highlight the commitment of both nations to sustainable development, with an emphasis on environmental protection and conserving natural habitats.

Post Fiji CEO Isaac Mow noted that these new stamps complement other stamps released in partnership with the Chinese Cultural Centre. “We have introduced many similar stamps in the past, and I believe this is an excellent way to promote the friendship between our two countries,” Mr. Mow commented. He also mentioned that stamps are an effective medium to showcase Fiji to the world, particularly in terms of tourism.
