Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has extended an invitation to Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit Fiji next year, aiming to commemorate what he described as a “golden milestone relationship” with China. During their meeting in Beijing, Rabuka emphasized the significance of the 49-year partnership between the two nations. He noted that the bond between Fiji and China has remained robust over the years. President Xi, in response, remarked that the relationship serves as a model of equal treatment and friendly cooperation between large and small nations. He also advocated for the establishment of a China-Fiji community focused on a shared future. Notably, Rabuka and Xi had previously met in San Francisco last November.
