Fiji Airways has taken a significant step in enhancing its fleet with the acquisition of a new ATR72-600 series aircraft. The aircraft, recently photographed in Toulouse, France, was successfully delivered to Fiji Airways on Christmas Eve, facilitated by Airplane Xperts, a French company specializing in aviation services.

Airplane Xperts expressed their gratitude towards Fiji Airways on LinkedIn, stating, “Vinaka Vakalevu to our friends at Fiji Airways for the successful delivery of an ATR 72-600, MSN 1707, on Christmas Eve here in Toulouse. The aircraft is now on its long way to its new home and should arrive next week. Thank you to the ATR team for their support during production, and for managing to get this aircraft delivered before Christmas.”

In August 2024, Fiji Airways secured a lease agreement for three additional ATR72-600 aircraft from Nordic Aviation Capital, further expanding their operational capabilities. Currently, the airline operates two ATR72-600s through its domestic subsidiary, Fiji Link. These turboprop planes are utilized for domestic flights and regional routes, including destinations such as Port Vila in Vanuatu, Funafuti in Tuvalu, and multiple locations in Tonga.

This new addition to their fleet represents a positive development for Fiji Airways, enhancing their ability to serve both domestic and regional markets effectively. The arrival of the ATR72-600 not only demonstrates the airline’s commitment to growth but also fosters improved connectivity for travelers in the region.

In summary, Fiji Airways is making significant strides in expanding its fleet with the introduction of the new ATR72-600 aircraft, promising better service for their passengers and enhancing their operational capacity in the Pacific region.
