Fiji Airways has expanded its international services with the introduction of its longest flight to date, connecting Dallas Fort Worth, Texas, directly to Nadi, Fiji. This new route, which operates three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, represents a significant addition to Fiji Airways’ flight offerings.
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is recognized as the second most connected airport globally, enhancing access for passengers flying to diverse destinations worldwide. Fiji Airways leverages this connectivity to make it easier for travelers from the U.S. to reach Fiji and other South Pacific locations, with seamless connections available for those headed to Australia and New Zealand.
Fiji Airways’ CEO, Andre Viljoen, expressed excitement about the new service, stating it bolsters the airline’s presence across North America and aims to bring approximately 1,000 passengers to Fiji weekly. He highlighted the program’s potential to stimulate tourism and business interactions between Fiji and the United States.
DFW’s Chief Executive, Sean Donohue, also welcomed the new route, emphasizing its role in expanding North Texas’s international reach and providing easy access to Fiji’s beautiful islands.
The inaugural flight from Nadi made history by arriving at DFW with a ceremonial water cannon salute, signifying the excitement associated with this new connection. The return flight is set to leave Dallas at 9:55 PM CST on December 10, 2024, and is expected to arrive in Nadi at 5:20 AM local time on December 12, 2024.
Fiji Airways will utilize the modern Airbus A350-900 XWB on this route, which accommodates 334 passengers, including 33 lie-flat business class seats for enhanced comfort during the 13-hour journey.
This new Dallas to Nadi route is Fiji Airways’ fifth direct link to North America, complementing existing services from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, and Vancouver. Moreover, it represents the airline’s 26th international direct route, reinforcing Fiji’s connectivity to various global destinations and aligning with upcoming expansions like the direct service to Cairns, Australia, launching in April 2025.
As part of its strategy to enhance its global network, Fiji Airways will join the oneworld® alliance in March 2025 and introduce American Airlines’ AAdvantage® loyalty program next year. Such developments promise to enrich travel experiences and offer expanded benefits to customers.
To mark the occasion, Fiji Airways is celebrating the launch with attractive promotional fares starting at $1,999 for return flights from Nadi to Dallas Fort Worth, available until December 17, 2024.
This new service not only facilitates easier travel between the United States and Fiji but also heralds opportunities for tourism growth and business cooperation, reinforcing the significance of airline connectivity in global travel.
In summary, this launch by Fiji Airways is a promising advancement that emphasizes the airline’s commitment to fostering connections and enhancing travel experiences between North America and the South Pacific region.
