Fiji Airways is set to enhance its presence in Australia by launching new direct flights between the Gold Coast and Nadi, aimed at strengthening connections between Fiji and one of Australia’s rapidly developing regions. These flights will begin on Thursday, June 11, 2026, and will operate three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The airline will utilize the modern Boeing 737 MAX 8 for this route, which boasts a flight time of just over three hours. With the introduction of this service, an additional 53,000 seats will be available annually, significantly improving travel options for both leisure and business travelers.
Paul Scurrah, Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, expressed that this new route is a testament to the airline’s dedication to serving the Australian market. He noted that the Gold Coast is a natural fit for the airline, citing its status as a bustling hub for tourism, business, and global events. He highlighted the region’s growth in population and infrastructure, which will play a vital role in Australia’s future.
Scurrah emphasized that the route fosters stronger ties between Fiji and Australia, opening up substantial opportunities for travel in both directions. He remarked, “We are delighted to offer travelers on the Gold Coast a faster, direct link to Fiji for holidays, family visits, and business, while also providing Fijians and international travelers with easier access to the Gold Coast region.”
In alignment with their vision to become the world’s happiest airline, Fiji Airways is excited to bring their award-winning service and the warmth of Fijian hospitality to the Gold Coast. To celebrate this announcement, the airline is offering special introductory return Lite fares from Fiji to the Gold Coast starting at FJD$799, making travel even more accessible for those looking to explore the beautiful islands of Fiji or the vibrant Gold Coast.
