Fiji Airways has announced its role as the Official Airline Partner of the LA Clippers for the 2024-25 NBA season, which enhances the airline’s connection with Los Angeles. The airline provides the only daily non-stop flight between Fiji and Los Angeles, ensuring convenient travel and outstanding service for passengers.
This partnership will allow Fiji Airways to strengthen its presence in the Los Angeles area through extensive branding during games, exclusive promotions and contests, as well as involvement in the LA Clippers’ youth camps and clinics. Fiji Airways’ Chief Executive and Managing Director, Andre Viljoen, expressed excitement about supporting the Clippers and their fans, highlighting the airline’s long-standing direct service from Los Angeles to Fiji.
This sponsorship marks Fiji Airways’ inaugural partnership with an NBA team. Viljoen noted it is part of the airline’s broader strategy to expand its reach in North America, which includes new direct services, the adoption of the American Airlines AAdvantage loyalty program, and plans to achieve full membership in the Oneworld Alliance by 2025.
As part of the three-year sponsorship deal, Fiji Airways’ branding will be prominently featured in the new Intuit Dome during Clippers home games, showcasing the beauty of Fiji’s 333 islands to an audience of over 17,500 fans per game. Viljoen emphasized the opportunity to promote Fiji as a travel destination and boost tourism in the nation.
